Welcome

First off, I want to say, welcome fellow endurance athletes. Not only are you tough enough but you are brave enough to defy physical and mental challenges.  This blog is for those looking for challenging and creative physical training and nutrition tips.  Let this information help you prepare for your next big event.

I have been involved in the fitness field for five years and am pumped for the opportunity to not only share fitness information but nutrition information as a Registered Dietitian as well.  Tough Enough will follow my personal training and nutrition plans as well as give you the latest nutrition and fitness tips/articles etc. Along with sharing my story, I would love to hear your opinions, experiences, and related helpful topic information.

Today is officially DAY 1 of my personal challenge, to conquer the Tough Mudder.  This is the first year the Tough Mudder attempted to set up in Michigan, however, instead of Michigan, the group spotted a location of interest in Ohio. This Tough Mudder event is set at the Amherst Quarry in South Amherst, Ohio on April 14-15th of 2012.  I have sent out event information to friends with the hopes of creating a tough, motivating, and fun team.  In the event invite I stated, “It is time to get serious”.  This event is not just another run; it challenges you with multiple obstacles (at least 27) for 12 miles.  This event can be completed by one motivated individual but I am looking to develop a team of motivated individuals to support one another to the end.  We start together and we finish together.

In the words of the infamous YouTube world of war craft clip, “Lets do this, LEEEEROY JENKINS.”

For more information on this Michigan event check out the Tough Mudder website at http://toughmudder.com/events/Michigan/ .  For additional FAQ’s about the Tough Mudder originaters and group check out their general website at http://toughmudder.com/ .
Remember the Tough Mudder is just one challenging event offered.  I would love to hear about other events you have participated in and your experiences.
Also, my Tough Mudder team needs a name.  Any thoughts?
