My Next Big Endeavor

The Homestead - Glen Arbor MI
One of my biggest fitness motivators is to actually SIGN UP and PAY for an event or activity.  Once money is put down...things start getting a bit more serious. I just completed the Tough Mudder event April 15th 2012 and since then I have been relaxing and doing what I consider my "off season" training.

However, I recently realized that my wedding is in 4 months. 4 MONTHS! wow. Time really flies. and now it is time to start not only training for my next event but for my wedding.   SO in searching around here is what I have come up with...  I want to change my game a little bit and turn to more of a lean but strong approach.  The past couple months I have put a big emphasis on endurance training and nutrition.  However, what about the folks who are working on lean muscle building? You probably want more helpful nutritional information for muscle building and preservation.  I came across www.bodybuilding.com  which introduced me to the FREE Jamie Eason 12 week LiveFit plan.    I have been a Jamie Eason fan from Oxygen Magazine so this caught my attention.  I encourage you to check out the bodybuilding.com website because they have lots of free training programs and information.  I will warn you that some of the nutritional suggestions can get a bit extreme...BUT...that is why I am here...to debunk some muscle building nutrition  myths, and to help you make a healthy nutrition and fitness program.

Along with the LiveFit training plan I have signed up for the "One Helluva Ride" race in Chelsea, Michigan.  However, since I am focusing on muscle building, I did not want to do a big heavy cardio training event.  That is a lot of stress on your body, lifting + cardio.  BUT with summer just around the corner and road biking being one of my favorite things...I decided maybe this fun event will just help me stay motivated, training, and on track.  "One Helluva Ride" goes all the way up to a 100 mile bike race, but that big plan will have to wait for another day One Helluva Ride Information and Registration.  I have also never participated in a bike race.  I bike all the time on the road myself, but I have never done it competitively with a group. So this should be another fun new experience.  If you haven't noticed yet, I am motivated by trying new and interesting fitness experiences.  Have you done any interesting physically challenging events? Tell me about it, it may be worth a try!!! :)
